Our Blemish Treatment is designed to address cystic acne and active breakouts in several ways. First and most importantly, it immediately removes the burden of inflammation, redness and swelling in order for the skin to function in a healthy way. Potent plants chosen for this treatment are capable of creating a healthy flora and microbial balance, which means it allows for microbiome diversity without allowing for a single strain to dominate and cause harm through infection and irritation. Botanical allies are also chosen that help to jump start the healing process and prevent scarring. Last but not least, the deeply soothing aromatics of this blend have a direct effect on our pituitary gland to reduce stress. Stress is a primary cause for acne and breakouts, and addressing that as well helps bring our Blemish Treatment full circle for assisting in the healing process.
Ingredients
Black Cumin Seed Oil – This uniquely nutritious oil is very effective against acne bacterial strains, while also being highly anti-inflammatory. Its anti-inflammatory benefits are specific to acne and even allergies (which often also play a role in acne formation).
Tamanu Oil – There is no replacement for the deep cool green Tamanu oil, which is a sacred ancient plant medicine of the tropics. It is anti-inflammatory, wound healing, antibacterial, stimulates skin immunity, and has a unique phytonutrient profile specific to skin healing and scar prevention and repair.
Thyme – Earthy Thyme essential oil has been proven to be more effective at treating acne than Benzoyl Peroxide without harming healthy skin flora. It restores balance to our delicate microbiome.
German Blue Chamomile – Azulene rich German Chamomile is a cooling and potent anti-inflammatory plant. It calms and soothes the skin and offers instant relief.
Helichrysum – This little yellow flower is as gentle as it is potent. It reduces redness and swelling. It strengthens tissues and supports cellular healing activity, and prevents and reduces the appearance of scars.

Usage
First, cleanse, tone, and moisturize skin normally. Then, apply 1 drop to fingertip and use that solitary drop amongst all skin blemishes, irritations, and breakouts. While this product is safe to use during the daytime, we recommend using this product at night for best results.
Use within 6 months of opening.
* This product does contain a very high percentage of essential oils. Keep in mind our 1 drop recommendation, because it is truly all that is needed to be effective. Depending on one’s own comfort level with essential oil usage, it’s good to keep in mind that high levels of most essential oils are often not recommended during pregnancy.
Science: There are many different types of breakouts, and most are not really ‘acne’. The term acne, commonly used to address all forms of breakouts, pimples, cysts, etc., actually stems from a bacterial strain called Propionibacterium acnes. There are so many anti-bacterial cleansers and toners out there that are made to kill this bacteria (and any other strain) on contact, and yet so many have ‘acne’ that doesn’t improve. We actually have beneficial flora living on our skin which helps to keep any harmful bacteria balanced, so wiping all of it out with anti-bacterial products can be harmful. The real root cause of all breakouts is inflammation, so digging deep to discover why we are inflamed is essential in improving skin health.
For more surface level breakouts, while our Blemish Treatment definitely does inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, we instead recommend a product to simply dry or draw them out. Our Detox Mask is an excellent choice and can also be used as a spot treatment. But for those of you suffering from deeper cystic acne, this Blemish Treatment is everything. It dramatically reduces swelling, redness, and inflammation, deeply accelerating the healing process.
